‘I’m Now Ugly’ – Nigerian TikToker, Peller Recounts Experience In Police Cell

Nigerian TikToker and streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has opened up about his experience after spending nearly four days in police custody.

Peller was recently arrested in the Lekki area of Lagos following an encounter with police officers over a tinted vehicle that allegedly had no number plate.

He and his associate, Bello Oladipo, were later granted ₦500,000 bail by a Lagos Magistrate’s Court after being arraigned on allegations of obstructing police officers during an operation.

Speaking after his release, Peller said the experience was the toughest he had ever faced.

In a post on his Snapchat account, he revealed that he neither ate nor took a bath throughout his stay in detention.

He said, “I am ugly now, I can’t show my face yet. Omo, I slept in cell for almost four days. It has never happened to me before in my life o.

“I no chop for four good days, I no bath.”

Peller also said some inmates recognized him and jokingly called him “001” while he was in custody.

According to him, the experience has changed his mindset, and he now plans to avoid trouble, especially as he prepares for his wedding.

He added, “Nah, my wedding dey my mind. Nah to dey waka jeje after wedding japa.”
