“I’ve Been Married To One Woman For 48 Years, It’s Boring” – Charly Boy
Veteran Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy has shared a candid perspective on marriage, admitting that spending nearly five decades with one partner can become monotonous at times.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Yanga 89.9FM, Charly Boy stressed that every marriage requires constant effort and management to survive.
“All marriages are management, including my own.”
He also emphasized the importance of keeping marital disagreements private, noting that involving outsiders rarely helps resolve issues.
Reflecting on his 48-year marriage, the entertainer acknowledged that routine naturally sets in over time.
“I have been married to one woman for 48 years, it is very boring. Imagine eating the same Egusi for years, it’s boring now.”
Charly Boy explained that extreme familiarity can sometimes reduce the excitement that existed in the early stages of a relationship.
Despite this, he maintained that long-term commitment still has its advantages.
“The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know.”
He further warned against infidelity, saying it can destroy trust and cause lasting damage in a relationship.
His comments have since generated reactions online, with many Nigerians debating his views on marriage, commitment, and the realities of staying with one partner for decades.
