LaLiga: Mourinho picks three teams that will fight for title

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has identified the three clubs he expects to compete for the LaLiga title this season.

Mourinho was speaking to the media ahead of Real Madrid’s next league fixture against Real Betis.

Real Madrid have made an impressive start to the campaign, winning 2-1 against Espanyol before recording bigger victories over Real Sociedad and Malaga, beating them 4-1 and 4-0 respectively.

The results have left Real Madrid joint-top of the LaLiga table alongside Barcelona as the early title race begins to take shape.

However, Mourinho believes Atletico Madrid will also be involved in the battle for the championship, making Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid his three expected contenders.

“LaLiga won’t be easy. I think Atlético Madrid will be there too.

“Even if they don’t say it publicly, they’ll feel they can. For me, they’re also contenders.”

Mourinho’s comments suggest he expects the title race to remain competitive, with the three Madrid and Barcelona giants likely to battle for the league trophy as the season progresses.
