LaLiga: Real Madrid Star, Mbappe Predicts Team To Win Title This Season

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has expressed confidence that his team will return to winning major trophies this season.

Real Madrid have gone through two consecutive seasons without winning a major trophy. Since Mbappe joined the Spanish giants from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer two summers ago, the club have failed to win the LaLiga title, with Barcelona claiming the league in both seasons.

Barcelona also defeated Real Madrid in two consecutive Supercopa de España finals. The 2025-26 season was particularly disappointing for Madrid, as they ended the campaign without a trophy after being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals and the Copa del Rey in the Round of 16.

With former manager Jose Mourinho returning to the Santiago Bernabeu for a second spell this summer, Mbappe believes Real Madrid can challenge for major honours again.

“We have to win, and I think this year we [Real Madrid] are going to win titles,” Mbappe said via Madrid Xtra.

He added:

“I’m sure we’re going to come back. We’re going to stay focused all year.”

Mbappe is also coming off an impressive 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with France in North America. He became the tournament’s all-time leading scorer with 22 goals.

The French forward also made history by becoming the first player to win multiple World Cup Golden Boot awards. He scored 10 goals and provided four assists as France finished fourth.

France lost 2-0 to eventual champions Spain in the semi-final before suffering a 6-4 defeat to England in the third-place match.

Mbappe will now be hoping to use his impressive form to help Real Madrid return to the top of Spanish and European football this season.
