My Biggest Fear Is Not Knowing When To Quit Music – Davido
Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about his biggest fear, revealing that he worries about not knowing the right time to step away from music.
Speaking in a recent video broadcast, the singer said one of the most difficult things to witness is seeing celebrities who were once at the peak of their careers lose their relevance.
According to Davido, the emotional impact of falling from fame is often overlooked, and he would love to establish a therapy centre to support entertainers and other successful people struggling with life after the spotlight.
He said watching public figures rise to the top and later face criticism or decline has made him reflect deeply on his own career.
“If there is one thing I could build, I would build a therapy centre for people who were popular and very successful people. Because it is crazy to be on top of the world and the next moment you are not.
“Even in soccer, you win the World Cup, Champions League and other trophies and people still don’t think it is enough. For instance, look at my good friend Ronaldo. After everything he’s done for football, they still laughed at him for exiting the World Cup.”
Davido said the possibility of damaging everything he has worked so hard to build is his greatest fear.
He explained that he constantly prays for wisdom to recognize the right moment to retire rather than remain in the spotlight for too long.
“That is my greatest fear. I have worked so hard for me to come and spoil it with something. I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up.”
The award-winning singer’s comments have sparked conversations among fans, with many praising his honesty about the challenges of maintaining long-term success and knowing when to leave at the peak of one’s career.
