Nations League: Portugal Hand Ronaldo’s No.7 Shirt To Leao After Camp Exit
Portugal have handed Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic No.7 shirt to Galatasaray winger Raphael Leao for their upcoming Nations League fixtures.
The change was confirmed in the revised squad list ahead of Portugal’s game against Denmark in Copenhagen on Thursday evening.
Ronaldo left the Portugal national team camp on Wednesday following days of speculation over his reported disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus.
The 41-year-old forward later addressed the situation on social media, saying that he would eventually explain why he decided to leave the camp.
“In due time, I will tell all Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that motivated me to leave,” Ronaldo said.
With Ronaldo unavailable for the upcoming fixture, Leao will wear the No.7 shirt as Portugal continue their Nations League campaign.
