“No progress, just chaos,” Tacha speaks amidst Rivers impeachment saga
Reality TV star and social media personality, Tacha, has weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding the impeachment move against Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, expressing deep concern over what she described as the state’s lack of progress.
Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, the former BBNaija housemate spoke emotionally about her home state, comparing its current situation with that of Lagos State. According to her, while both states face challenges, Lagos continues to record visible development despite its problems, unlike Rivers.
Tacha said she has never been quick to criticise Lagos because, in her view, the state keeps moving forward regardless of its issues. She lamented that Rivers State, which she described as a place she loves deeply and grew up in, has become synonymous with political conflicts rather than development.
“Every time Rivers is in the news, it’s one political fight or the other. No progress stories. No excitement. Just live chaos,” she wrote, adding that for the past two years, she could not recall any major development headline from the state.
She further questioned how businesses and investors are surviving amid the constant political turmoil, noting that the instability makes the state unattractive for growth and investment.
The outspoken influencer also expressed sympathy for residents of Rivers State, saying they deserve better leadership and stability. She warned that the ongoing crisis could waste several more years, with development stalled until the next election cycle.
Tacha concluded by calling on the people of Rivers State to unite and take charge of the state’s future. According to her, meaningful change will only happen when residents get tired of the cycle of political battles and collectively demand progress.
“I pray one day the people of Rivers get tired, come together, and truly fix the state,” she added
