Nollywood Actor Ikechukwu Nweke Seeks Financial Help As He Battles Colon Cancer

Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Nweke has appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance as he continues his battle with colon cancer.

In an Instagram video titled My Cancer Journey, the actor revealed that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2025 and has been fighting the disease privately.

According to Nweke, he has spent more than ₦15 million on chemotherapy, radiotherapy, medical tests, scans and medications since his diagnosis.

The actor expressed gratitude to his family and colleagues, including Uche Nancy, Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold and Ebele Okaro, for supporting him throughout his treatment.

However, he disclosed that his battle is far from over, as doctors have advised him to continue with another phase of treatment to improve his chances of recovery.

Nweke said the cost of the treatment has become too much for him and his family to bear, prompting him to seek public support.

He said:

“Good morning, good afternoon and good evening from wherever you are watching me from. I was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. I have been trying so hard to manage it privately.

“I have spent a lot of money and my family members have contributed a whole lot. People close to me like Destiny Etiko, Uche Nancy, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, among others, have also been supportive.

“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming.

“Today, I’m humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers, and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life.”
