NPFL: Plateau United Paid Price For Carelessness In Doma United Draw – Ogunbote

Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has expressed disappointment over his team’s slow start in their NPFL matchday five clash against Doma United.

The Peace Boys fought back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Doma United at the Pantami Stadium on Wednesday night.

Doma United took control of the game after Michael Adegbite scored twice to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

Plateau United responded in the second half, with Gideon Monday and Paul Samson finding the net to help the visitors earn a share of the points.

Ogunbote admitted that his team’s carelessness was responsible for the two goals they conceded. “It was good that we were able to get this one point; it wasn’t an easy one,” Ogunbote said in his post-match interview.

“I think we were careless to concede those two goals. As much as we appreciate the one point, it was like a two-goal loss,” the experienced coach added.

Ogunbote also urged Plateau United supporters to continue backing the team as the players work to develop better understanding. “All I will say is for the fans to continue to support us in every capacity because the team is still a work in progress. The synergy between the new and old players is not there yet, but we will get it right in subsequent matches,” he said.
