The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 29 suspects and recovered firearms, stolen vehicles, and illicit drugs during a series of operations carried out across the state over the past two weeks.
The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, disclosed this during a press briefing in Kaduna.
According to him, the achievements were made through intelligence-led policing, cooperation with other security agencies, and information provided by residents.
He said those arrested include 12 suspected kidnappers, 13 suspects linked to murder cases, and four suspected vehicle thieves. Police also recovered four stolen vehicles during the operations.
One of the major operations took place on June 5 when police tracked suspected bandits to a forest hideout in Sagamu, Ogun State, following intelligence on the movement of illegal arms.

Items recovered from the hideout included two AK-47 rifles, one pump-action shotgun, a locally made pistol, 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and four cartridges.

In a separate operation, a joint security team led by CSP Sani Ibrahim Zuntu arrested 13 suspects during a raid on Katuga Unguwar Ruwa Village in Kagarko Local Government Area on June 11.
The arrests were linked to the deaths of Isiyaka Bijimi and Mercy Danladi, which police said were connected to accusations of witchcraft that triggered violence in the community.
Among those arrested were Comfort Emmanuel, Ayuba Jatau, Daniel Enoch, and 10 others.
Police also recorded success in their fight against drug trafficking after arresting Jamilu Ahmed and Mubarak Ibrahim in Zaria with 2,700 sachets of Tramadol.
