Police Rescue Kidnapped 17-Year-Old Victim In Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has rescued a 17-year-old boy who was kidnapped in the state.

The victim, identified as Daneri Alhaji Yaro, was abducted in the early hours of August 5, 2026, at Aladere Village, via Ikoyi-Ile, near the Government Reserve Forest.

The police command confirmed his rescue in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, and made available to DAILY POST on Thursday evening.

According to the command, the victim was rescued through a joint operation involving police officers and other security agencies.

Ayanlade said the teenager was found unhurt and has since been reunited with his family.

He said:

“The Oyo State Police Command has successfully rescued a 17-year-old male, Daneri Alhaji Yaro, who was abducted in the early hours of 5 August 2026 at Aladere Village, via Ikoyi-Ile, near the Government Reserve Forest.

“Acting swiftly on the information, the Divisional Police Officer immediately mobilised a combined team comprising police operatives, members of the Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes, and hunters to the scene in a coordinated search-and-rescue mission.

“The victim was rescued unhurt and has since been reunited with his family.”
