Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred debate over polygamy after insisting that marrying more than one wife is not a sin, arguing that some men are destined to have multiple wives.

The actor shared his views in a post on his Facebook page, where he referenced biblical accounts of men who had several wives.

According to Edochie, the Bible mentions several prominent men who had multiple wives without being condemned by God. He also claimed that God was willing to give some of them more wives.

The actor further argued that some men are destined to marry more than one woman but choose to have only one wife because they do not fully understand themselves or fear society’s judgement.

He claimed that some of these men later struggle in life because they fail to follow what he believes is their destiny.

In his post, Edochie wrote:

“Even in the bible, many great men there had many wives and God never had issues with them. He was even willing to give them more. Today, many men are destined to have many wives but because they don’t know who they are and scared of what society will say they end up having just one and life doesn’t seem to be working for them.”

His comments have added to the ongoing public debate about polygamy, particularly its religious and social implications. However, his claims about men being destined to have multiple wives reflect his personal views.
