Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted after his side secured a 2-1 victory over Nigeria in an international friendly match on Wednesday.

The match, played at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, saw Ronaldo feature as Portugal faced Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles.

Portugal took the lead in the 23rd minute through Pedro Neto, before Nigeria equalised before half-time through Akor Adams.

In the second half, Francisco Conceição scored the winning goal to seal the result for the hosts.

Reacting after the game, Ronaldo said the team’s preparations for the World Cup are complete and they are now fully focused on the tournament proper.

He wrote on Instagram:

“The preparation is done. Eyes on the World Cup,” alongside a picture of himself in action during the match.

Portugal have been drawn in Group K at the World Cup, where they will face DR Congo, Colombia, and Uzbekistan.

The result leaves Nigeria reflecting on another competitive friendly as they continue preparations ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
