Ronaldo set for Portugal return after Jorge Jesus includes player in squad
Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Portugal’s latest squad despite his reported disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus, raising the prospect of his return to international action.
The 41-year-old is expected to be eligible for Portugal’s upcoming matches against Denmark on November 14 and Wales on November 17. However, the final squad for the fixtures will be officially announced on November 6.
The development comes after the Portuguese Football Federation suspended Ronaldo for 30 days and fined him €255 for leaving the team’s camp in Denmark during the September international break.
Ronaldo reportedly became furious after Jesus left him on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of a Nations League encounter.
The incident created tension between the veteran forward and the coach, raising questions about Ronaldo’s immediate future with the national team.
However, Ronaldo has since apologised for his behaviour, potentially helping to ease the situation following the disagreement.
