Ronaldo vs Messi: He’s From Another Planet – Jay Jay Okocha Picks Better Player

Former Super Eagles captain Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has chosen Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo in the long-running debate over who is the better footballer.

Okocha made his choice while answering a question on the Obi One Podcast.

The former Bolton Wanderers midfielder praised Ronaldo but argued that Messi possesses a different level of talent and ability.

According to Okocha, Ronaldo is a special player and an exceptional goalscorer, but he compared the Portuguese forward’s goalscoring qualities to those of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

Okocha said, “Messi for me. Ronaldo is special, but he’s a goalscorer like Haaland.

“Messi is on another planet. He was born to play football. I think Messi would get ill if he didn’t play football.”

Messi and Ronaldo dominated world football for more than a decade, with both players collecting numerous individual awards and breaking several records during their careers.

The pair have won a combined 13 Ballon d’Or awards and are widely regarded as two of the greatest players in football history.
