Serie A: De Bruyne Clears Air On Trying To Leave Napoli

Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has denied reports that he wanted to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

The Belgium international was reportedly unhappy with life at Napoli last season under former manager Antonio Conte, leading to speculation that he could leave the Serie A club.

However, De Bruyne has now clarified the situation, insisting that he never tried to force an exit from Napoli during the summer.

Speaking at a press conference with the Belgium national team on Tuesday, the former Manchester City midfielder dismissed the reports and explained what he did after the season ended.

“No, I have not really spoken to anyone about it [trying to leave Napoli],” De Bruyne said.

“I just enjoyed my holidays and went straight back to Naples.”
