Social Media Influencer, Andrew Tate, Brother Arrested In US Over Alleged Sex Trafficking

Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, have been arrested in Miami, Florida, as authorities in the United Kingdom seek their extradition over fresh allegations of rape, sex trafficking, and assault.

The United States Marshals Service confirmed the brothers’ arrest on Saturday but did not disclose the specific charges, citing a sealed arrest warrant.

However, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced that Andrew Tate is facing seven additional counts of rape, along with charges related to sex trafficking and possession of indecent images of a child.

His brother, Tristan Tate, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

According to Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Police, the brothers now face a combined total of 59 criminal charges.

Authorities said the alleged offences took place between July 2010 and August 2017. The Tate brothers have consistently denied all allegations against them.

UK prosecutors said extradition proceedings will now begin to return the dual British-American citizens to the United Kingdom to face trial.

Speaking on the development, Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said:

“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.”

Police described the investigation as complex, revealing that 38 new charges were recently authorized against the brothers.

As a result, Andrew Tate now faces 42 charges in the UK, while Tristan Tate faces 17 charges.

In 2024, Bedfordshire Police obtained European arrest warrants seeking the brothers’ return from Romania, where they have also been facing separate criminal investigations.

Earlier this year, the brothers failed in a legal bid to compel authorities to reveal the identities of their UK accusers after the Crown Prosecution Service ruled that the alleged victims’ identities would remain confidential until formal legal proceedings begin.
