Top Nollywood Director, Dimbo Atiya, Is Dead

Popular Nollywood movie director, Dimbo Atiya, has reportedly died.

Atiya reportedly passed away on Thursday morning. The news of his death was announced by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards (BON), in an Instagram post.

Oloketuyi wrote:

“Dimba Atiya is dead. The top Nollywood director passed on this morning. Details later.”

Actor Mofe Duncan also expressed shock over the director’s death while sharing his photograph on Instagram.

He wrote:

“God no, not Dimbo. I’m devastated. One of the greatest minds of the entertainment industry.”

The death of Atiya has since sparked reactions from members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with colleagues and fans mourning the loss of the filmmaker.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his death had not been disclosed.

His death came only hours after the reported death of Nollywood actress Tope Osoba.
