Transfer: Arsenal To Make One Last Alvarez Attempt
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to make one final attempt to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, 2026.
According to El Desmarque, the Premier League champions are interested in bringing the Argentina international to the Emirates as they look to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

However, the report claims Arsenal are unlikely to succeed, with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone reportedly unwilling to allow Alvarez to leave the club this summer.
Arsenal could also face competition from Barcelona, who are said to be interested in the former Manchester City striker.
Alvarez is expected to miss Atletico Madrid’s LaLiga season opener against Malaga on Wednesday night.
The 26-year-old joined Atletico from Manchester City in 2024 but is reportedly keen to leave the Spanish club in search of a new challenge.
