Transfer: Benzema’s contract officially terminated
Al Hilal have officially confirmed that Karim Benzema’s contract has been terminated by mutual agreement.
The 38-year-old French striker leaves the Saudi Pro League club after spending only six months with the team, despite having one year remaining on his contract.
In an official statement, Al Hilal announced: “Al Hilal Club Company and French player, Karim Benzema have mutually agreed to terminate their contractual relationship, bringing his time with Al Hilal’s first team to an end.”
The development comes just 24 hours after Al Hilal completed the £51 million signing of Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, a move that further strengthened the club’s attacking options.
Al Hilal also thanked Benzema for his contribution during his short spell at the club, praising his professionalism, commitment and leadership both on and off the pitch.
