Transfer: Carragher changes EPL title prediction after Man City sign Enzo Fernandez

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has changed his Premier League title prediction following Manchester City’s decision to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Carragher believes Manchester City have now become Arsenal’s biggest challengers in the Premier League title race after completing a £125 million deal for the Argentina international on transfer deadline day.

The former Liverpool defender was reacting to City’s move for Fernandez while analysing how the transfer could affect the title race.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said, “He certainly pushes Man City above Chelsea. Myself and plenty of others have felt Chelsea will have a really good season. And I still believe that a lot of that is on the back of not having European football, having a new manager, the front three that they’ve got.

“But they’re losing Enzo Fernandez, who, for me has been one of the big players for Chelsea.

“Man City look a lot stronger now.

“I would say they’re going to be the biggest challengers to Arsenal right now.”

Carragher’s comments suggest that Chelsea’s chances of challenging for the Premier League title have been reduced by Fernandez’s departure, while Manchester City have strengthened their squad with the high-profile signing.
