Transfer: Ferdinand Names Striker Man Utd Should Sign After Missing Out On Welbeck
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to consider signing Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins after missing out on Danny Welbeck.
Ferdinand made the suggestion while analysing Manchester United’s disappointing 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Hull City in their opening Premier League match of the season.
Manchester United had been interested in signing Welbeck during the summer transfer window, but the England striker eventually joined Chelsea.
Following the defeat to Hull City, Ferdinand believes Manchester United still need to strengthen their attack and has identified Watkins as a possible solution.
The former United defender believes the club should consider using part of their transfer budget to bring in the Aston Villa striker.
