Transfer: Gary Neville Names Club That Has Already Won EPL Title After One Signing
Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Arsenal have already done enough to win the 2026/27 Premier League title following the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United.
Arsenal completed the signing of the former Newcastle captain on August 8 for a reported £75 million fee. The Brazilian midfielder signed a four-year contract with the Gunners.
Arsenal dominated the Premier League last season and won their first league title in 22 years. The club have continued to strengthen their squad this summer with the additions of Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier and Guimaraes.
Guimaraes enjoyed an impressive spell at Newcastle, scoring 31 goals and providing 32 assists in 195 appearances across all competitions.
The 28-year-old midfielder also played an important role in helping Newcastle qualify for the UEFA Champions League and win the Carabao Cup last year.
Neville believes Guimaraes’ arrival has made Arsenal even stronger and could be the signing that helps them retain the Premier League title.
Speaking to The Overlap, via Metro, Neville said:
“I would have backed Arsenal for the Premier League anyway, but I think the Bruno Guimaraes signing just secures the title for Arsenal.
“I love him; he possesses tremendous character and personality. I consider this a significant addition. The Guimaraes signing is substantial; he is an exceptional player. Acquiring him from Newcastle United for £75 million is a noteworthy signing.”
Arsenal are also reportedly close to signing Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa for around £51 million, according to journalist David Ornstein.
