Transfer: ‘He’s A Dangerous Winger’ – Ex-Chelsea Star Cascarino Names Player Arsenal Should Sign

Former Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino has advised Arsenal to consider signing Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma this summer.

Cascarino believes the Japan international could be a good alternative to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, who was previously linked with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners had shown interest in Vinicius, but the Brazilian winger decided to remain at Real Madrid and signed a new six-year contract with the Spanish giants.

Arsenal are now exploring other options to strengthen their attack, with players such as Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams reportedly being considered.

However, Cascarino believes Mitoma could be an ideal addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“If he were slightly younger and had not suffered from numerous injuries, I would seriously consider him. I believe Mitoma has been Brighton’s standout player; he possesses remarkable talent,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT.

“He had a challenging season last year, plagued by injuries. He managed to score three goals in the league for Brighton during that time.

“However, he is a formidable winger who consistently seeks to take on defenders. Arsenal has sufficient depth in that position, so, yes, I would advocate for his signing.”

Mitoma joined Brighton from Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale in 2021 and has since made 113 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring 23 goals and providing 11 assists.

His progress was affected by injuries last season, with the winger making only 19 Premier League starts. He scored three goals and provided one assist during the campaign.
