Transfer: Why Vinicius Jr Won’t Join Arsenal – Mikel Obi

Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi believes Vinicius Junior will not leave Real Madrid to join Arsenal this summer.

According to Mikel, the Brazilian winger is only being linked with Arsenal to strengthen his position in contract talks with Real Madrid and is not planning to leave the Spanish club.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Mikel said there is no chance Real Madrid president Florentino Perez would allow Vinicius to leave.

“He’s not coming. Forget about that. He’s just using Arsenal to get a better deal. He’s not leaving Real Madrid,” Mikel said.

“I’m sure about that. One hundred per cent. He’s not leaving Real Madrid.

“Why will he leave? Arsenal is a big team and Real Madrid are not willing to budge. Florentino Perez is not willing to budge, so I don’t think Vini’s coming to Arsenal.”
