UCL: Man Utd In Injury Crisis Ahead Of Como Clash

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick could be without five additional players for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Como in Italy as the club faces a growing injury crisis.

Lisandro Martínez, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Ayden Heaven and Marcus Rashford all missed the team’s final training session before the squad travelled to Italy, raising doubts about their availability for the encounter.

Their potential absence would add to United’s existing injury problems, with Patrick Dorgu, Benjamin Šeško and Manuel Ugarte already sidelined by long-term injuries.

Defender Leny Yoro will also miss the match after receiving a straight red card during Manchester United’s Champions League encounter against Atlético Madrid last week.

Speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday’s fixture, Carrick described the situation as a “mixed bag”, indicating uncertainty over the availability of several players.

The manager is particularly hopeful that Martínez will recover in time for the club’s upcoming Premier League fixture, although he is more likely to feature against Bournemouth on Sunday.
