UCL: Osimhen Fails To Save Galatasaray From 4-1 Thrashing By Barcelona
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen could not prevent Galatasaray from suffering a 4-1 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Nigerian forward made his first start since returning from injury but failed to find the net as the Turkish champions struggled against the Spanish giants.
Galatasaray initially delighted their home supporters when Aleksey Batrakov opened the scoring, giving the hosts an early advantage.
However, the Turkish side suffered another setback when a goal was ruled out following a VAR review, before Barcelona mounted an impressive comeback.
João Cancelo, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi scored to complete the 4-1 victory for Hansi Flick’s side.
The result moved Barcelona to the top of the Champions League standings, while Galatasaray dropped to 34th position. Barcelona also maintained their perfect record across all fixtures played this season, according to the report.
