WAFCON 2026: 8 Countries Eliminated From Competition

Eight countries have been knocked out of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco following the conclusion of the group stage.

The eliminated teams are Mali, Zambia, Cape Verde, Senegal, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt and Burkina Faso.

Mali became the latest nation to exit the tournament after playing a 1-1 draw with Ghana in their final Group D match on Thursday. The result saw Mali finish third in the group, behind Ghana and group winners Cameroon.

Cameroon and Ghana both advanced to the quarter-finals, where they will face Nigeria’s Super Falcons and Malawi, respectively.
