WAFCON 2026: Semi-Final Fixtures Confirmed

The semi-final fixtures for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) have been confirmed following the completion of the quarter-final matches on Sunday.

In the first quarter-final, Cameroon defeated defending champions Nigeria 1-0. Myriam Maéva Nyadjou Wamen scored the only goal of the match to send the Indomitable Lionesses into the last four.

Cameroon will now face hosts Morocco in the semi-final.

In the other quarter-final, Malawi produced a major upset by defeating Ghana 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.

The victory also secured Malawi’s historic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, marking the first time the Scorchers have reached the tournament.

Ghana took the lead through Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, but Malawi quickly responded through Temwa Chawinga, who equalized in the 12th minute.

Rose Kadzere then scored a dramatic second-half winner to send Malawi through.
