Why I Allowed My Ex Husband At Our Daughter’s Wedding – Iyabo Ojo

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has explained why she gave her former husband an important role during the wedding ceremony of their daughter, Priscilla.

Speaking in an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the actress said she made the decision for the sake of their daughter and to help build a better future for the family.

According to Iyabo Ojo, she wanted to break the cycle of failed marriages that had affected previous generations in her family.

She explained that many people describe such repeated family experiences as ancestral curses, but she was determined not to allow the same pattern to continue with her own children.

The actress revealed that her parents were not together and that her own marriage also ended in divorce. Because of those experiences, she decided long ago to do everything possible to ensure her children did not go through the same situation.

Iyabo Ojo said she made many sacrifices to help Priscilla succeed and enjoy a happy marriage. She added that since Priscilla’s father is alive, it was only right for him to be present and receive the respect he deserves as their daughter’s father.

She said, “I made my choice to marry him, so whatever that’s going on between me and him is between us. It shouldn’t extend to the children. My parents were not together, and my marriage also failed. I decided my children would not repeat that pattern. I paid the price to make sure Priscilla succeeds and has a happy marriage. Because Priscilla’s father is alive, he deserved to be present and be honoured on her wedding day.”
