Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, has sparked reactions online after revealing that she burnt the outfit she wore to the burial of late actor Alex Ekubo.

The actress made the revelation via her Instagram Stories, where she explained that she acted based on advice from her godmother.

According to her, she was told that clothes worn to a burial should not be kept, as part of a personal belief and tradition.

She Said: “This Is The Outfit I Wore To Alex’s Burial. My Godmother Said It Is Not Good To Have The Cloth You Wore To A Burial Around You; You Burn Them.”

Angela Okorie added that she decided to follow the instruction and even shared a video showing the outfit being set on fire.

She noted that she had only recently learned about the practice and felt it was important to inform her followers.

She further prayed for long life and protection for herself and her loved ones, saying: “So Family And Friends Take Note. I Felt I Should Share This Information. May The Lord Keep And Bless Us With Long Life. Amen. Chai.”

Her action has since generated mixed reactions online, with some people supporting the belief while others questioned why she chose to publicly share it.

Alex Ekubo was recently laid to rest following his passing after a battle with cancer, with colleagues and fans continuing to pay tribute to his memory.
