Why I Can Never Collaborate With Some Of My Colleagues – Kiekie
Nigerian content creator and media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has revealed why she chooses not to work with certain skit makers in the entertainment industry.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Kiekie said she avoids collaborating with content creators whose comedy is excessively vulgar or sexually explicit because it does not align with the image she has built over the years.
According to her, maintaining her brand identity is more important than working with every popular creator.
“I would never collaborate with any skit maker that is too vulgar. I will not be able to collaborate with them,” she said.
When asked to mention a specific person, Kiekie declined to name anyone but explained the type of content she was referring to.
“Let me think about it. Hmmm. I don’t have a name of one, but I have seen quite a number of them. So if you’re too much breasts, bum bum, not that I have a problem with it, but it’s just brand alignment.”
The content creator stressed that refusing to collaborate with someone should not be interpreted as disrespect or criticism of their work.
She acknowledged that many creators in that category work hard and deserve recognition, but insisted that their style of content does not fit the expectations of the brands she represents.
“My inability to collaborate with you doesn’t mean that I look down on what you do or I don’t respect what you do or I don’t see your hard work.
“I recognize your hard work, but we just don’t align. It will affect the way my own brands are approaching my own work.”
Kiekie’s comments have sparked conversations on social media about personal branding, with many agreeing that content creators have the right to choose collaborations that match their values and professional image.
