2026 Ballon d’Or: Barcelona Have Confirmed They Won’t Vote For Me – Rodri
Barcelona midfielder Rodri has revealed that the club will not support him in the voting for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.
Rodri made the disclosure during an interview with Mundo Deportivo, claiming that Barcelona have decided to back his teammate Lamine Yamal instead.
Both Rodri and Yamal are among the 30 players nominated for this year’s Ballon d’Or, with Yamal aiming to win the prestigious award for the first time.
Rodri, however, already has experience of winning the prize, having claimed the 2024 Ballon d’Or while playing for Manchester City.
“Ballon d’Or? The club has chosen to back Lamine,” Rodri said.
“They say he’s the player most deserving of the award, and that’s completely legitimate. I hope that a Spanish player wins.”
