2028 Olympics Qualifier: Super Falcons Target Second Win Against Comoros
Nigeria’s Super Falcons are determined to secure a second victory against Comoros in their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying campaign, with forward Uchenna Kanu insisting that the team wants to win both legs of the tie.
The Super Falcons head into the second leg of their second-round qualifying encounter with a 2-0 advantage from the first meeting. The Nigerian side will look to build on that lead and secure progress to the next round.
Defender Michelle Alozie and forward Kanu scored the goals that gave Nigeria victory in the first leg, putting the 10-time African champions in a strong position ahead of the return fixture.
Kanu said the team remains focused on winning again and producing another convincing performance as they pursue qualification for the Olympic Games.
“Playing on a big stage like the Olympics is huge for me personally,” Kanu told the media, highlighting the importance of representing Nigeria at the prestigious global sporting event.
She added: “We have a goal not just to make it to the Olympics, but also to look at the trophy. We have a good team, we’ve been preparing and we’ve been doing well. We want to win, like the coach said, and score as many goals as possible.”
