EPL: Carrick drops Bruno Fernandes for Man Utd vs Bournemouth
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has left club captain Bruno Fernandes out of his starting lineup for the Premier League clash against Bournemouth.
According to The Athletic, the Portugal international will begin the match on the bench rather than in the starting XI.
The decision comes a week after Fernandes criticised Carrick’s tactics following Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League.
Fernandes questioned the manager’s decision not to allow the team to press the Serie A side during the disappointing encounter.
The defeat extended Manchester United’s winless run to seven matches across all competitions, increasing pressure on Carrick to improve the team’s performances.
Following the result, Carrick apologised to supporters as the club continued to struggle for positive results.
