UEFL: Arokodare Stars With Goal, Assist As Ajax Beat Sion Away
Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare played a key role as Ajax defeated Swiss club Sion 4-2 away from home in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie on Thursday night.
Arokodare started the match on the bench before coming on for Marcos Leonardo with 18 minutes remaining.
The Nigerian striker quickly made an impact, scoring Ajax’s third goal in the 74th minute to register his first goal for the club.
Arokodare continued to impress and provided the assist for Davy Klaassen to score Ajax’s fourth goal three minutes before the end of the match.
His goal and assist helped Ajax secure an important away victory and put them in a strong position ahead of the second leg.
Arokodare will now hope to deliver another impressive performance when Ajax host Sion at the Johan Cruyff Arena next Thursday.
