Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has admitted that 2026 could be a good year for him to win the Ballon d’Or.

The Frenchman is considered one of the leading contenders for the prestigious individual award after another impressive campaign with Real Madrid and France.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Tuesday, Mbappe highlighted his achievements at the 2026 World Cup.

The 27-year-old made history during the tournament by becoming the all-time top scorer in World Cup history.

“I made history this summer in the most prestigious competition, but there’s still a long way to go,” Mbappe said.

He added: “This might be a good year for the Ballon d’Or. But the journalists vote, and they will decide. I only focus on doing my best.”
