EPL: Why Osimhen’s Move To Arsenal, Chelsea Collapsed – Friedel
Former United States goalkeeper Brad Friedel has claimed that Victor Osimhen’s potential move to the Premier League collapsed because of the financial demands involved.
Osimhen was heavily linked with Arsenal during the summer transfer window, while Chelsea had also shown interest in signing the Nigerian striker in the past.
Despite the strong interest from English clubs, Osimhen ultimately remained with Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he has become a hugely popular figure among the supporters.
Friedel, however, believes Osimhen has all the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League and make a major impact.
“He has the perfect profile for the Premier League, he’s big, strong, great in the air, and can play in a high-pressing team, a low block, or a possession-based side.”
“His movement in the box and finishing ability are proven and deadly,” Friedel said, as per Livescore.

“The difficulty with a deal like that often comes down to financial structures and wage expectations, especially with PSR rules in the Premier League making massive net packages difficult to accommodate alongside other transfer business.”
