It had been reported on August 24 that Kuti confirmed Poco Lee was on remand in a UK prison and was expected to appear in court in September for a plea hearing.

Kuti has now stated that the plea hearing will take place on February 8, 2027, while the trial is scheduled to commence on March 8.

He urged the public to allow the legal process to run its course and avoid passing judgment based on allegations or information circulating publicly.

“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and that principle must be respected throughout the entire process,” he said.
