Ballon d’Or: Olise Disagrees With Henry, Names Player Who Should Win 2026 Award
Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise has disagreed with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry over who should win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Henry recently picked Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe as his top candidate, with Olise ranked behind the Frenchman as his second choice.
However, Olise has now backed his Bayern Munich teammate Harry Kane to win the prestigious individual award.
“Because he was the best player last season,” the France international said when asked why Kane deserves the Ballon d’Or.
Kane enjoyed an outstanding 2025-26 season, scoring 72 goals for Bayern Munich and the England national team.
The 33-year-old also helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title and played a key role as England secured a bronze medal at the 2026 World Cup.
