Carrick: They’re Selfish – Rooney Attacks Bruno Fernandes, Other Man Utd Stars

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has criticised captain Bruno Fernandes and other players at the club, accusing them of being selfish.

Rooney’s comments followed Fernandes’ criticism of manager Michael Carrick after Manchester United suffered a 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Speaking on The United Stand, the former England international expressed concern that disagreements between players and the coaching staff could create divisions within the dressing room.

“When Martinez came out, I said it will rip the dressing room apart. We have seen it now with Bruno, and you are going to see it with more players because they don’t want to take responsibility,” Rooney said.

He further accused the players of prioritising themselves over the interests of the club and those around them.

“These players, they are selfish. They don’t care about their team-mates, the manager, the staff, or the fans,” he added.

Manchester United have now gone seven games without a victory, increasing pressure on the team to improve its performances.
