EPL: 3 fixtures we could see shock results in Game Week 9

The ninth round of Premier League fixtures will take place across the UK this weekend, with several important encounters scheduled.

The biggest game of the weekend is Sunday’s meeting between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield, a fixture that could have significant implications for both sides’ title ambitions.

Liverpool will be looking to strengthen their position in the title race, while Arsenal will aim to maintain their momentum in the defence of their league crown.

However, Saturday’s fixtures could also produce unexpected results, with three matches identified as potential opportunities for surprise outcomes.

1. Chelsea vs Man Utd

Michael Carrick is expected to remain in charge of Manchester United for their trip to Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s early kick-off. United are currently sitting just above the relegation zone, and despite expectations of another difficult afternoon, the match could provide an opportunity to turn their season around against Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea.

2. Man City vs Brighton

Manchester City and Brighton met in the Carabao Cup during the week, with City recovering twice to draw 2-2 in regulation time before winning the penalty shoot-out. The result exposed areas Brighton could exploit, and City have been warned that another difficult encounter could see them drop points for the second consecutive week.

3. Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Tottenham Hotspur head into the London derby after securing an impressive 2-0 victory over Chelsea last weekend. The result moved Roberto De Zerbi’s side out of the relegation zone, and they will hope to build on that performance.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, will be determined to avoid slipping into the bottom three. With both teams having important points to fight for, the derby could produce an unpredictable outcome.
