Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update ahead of Chelsea’s visit to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners are aiming to maintain their perfect start to the season when they face Chelsea in the London derby.

Arteta confirmed that Bruno Guimaraes picked up a knock during Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa. However, the midfielder is expected to recover in time for the clash with Chelsea.

Arteta said: “He had a knock against Villa. He is being assessed but tomorrow probably he will be ok for training.”

The Arsenal boss also provided an update on Cristhian Mosquera, who was substituted during the victory over Aston Villa. Arteta explained that the decision to take the defender off was more precautionary than a serious injury concern.

Ezri Konsa, who replaced Mosquera, is also available to start against Chelsea if selected by the manager.

Arteta also gave an update on Jurrien Timber, whose fitness will be assessed after Arsenal’s final training session before the match.

“We will decide tomorrow after training,” Arteta said.
