EPL: He’s Quick, Scores Goals – Lee Sharpe Names Striker Man Utd Should Sign
Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe has urged his former club to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
Sharpe believes the England international would be an ideal addition to Manchester United because of his pace, goalscoring ability and strength in holding up the ball.
Watkins is reportedly keen to leave Aston Villa before the summer transfer window closes next week.
The 30-year-old was left out of Aston Villa’s squad for their 4-0 Premier League defeat to Brighton last weekend.
Speaking to Metro, Sharpe explained why he believes Watkins would be a good signing for Manchester United.
“I think he [Watkins] would be an ideal buy for Manchester United,” Sharpe told Metro.
“He holds the ball up well, he’s quick, he scores goals, and I think he would have thrived and been a great signing, and Sesko would learn so much from him,” he said.
