EPL: Michael Owen Snubs Man City, Predicts Teams To Finish Top 5, Bottom 3
Former Manchester United and England striker, Michael Owen, has predicted that Arsenal will retain the Premier League title at the end of the 2026/27 season.
Owen also named the five teams he expects to finish at the top of the table and the three clubs he believes will be relegated.
The new Premier League season began on Friday, with defending champions Arsenal defeating Coventry City 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

In a post on X, Owen backed Arsenal to successfully defend their league title.
He predicted Chelsea to finish second, while Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will occupy the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
For the relegation places, Owen tipped Fulham, newly promoted Ipswich Town and Hull City to go down at the end of the campaign.
He wrote:
“I thought I’d post my season predictions for the top five and bottom three. A little bit out of the ordinary, but I didn’t just want to go for the usual and slightly boring ones.
“Top Five: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs. Bottom Three: Fulham, Ipswich Town, Hull City. Let me know your thoughts.”
Notably, Owen left Manchester City out of his predicted top five.
Manchester City parted ways with manager Pep Guardiola at the end of the 2025/26 season and will start the new campaign under a new manager for the first time since 2016, with Enzo Maresca taking charge.
Owen’s prediction also points to a major turnaround for Chelsea and Tottenham following disappointing campaigns last season.
Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season, while Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation after ending the campaign in 17th position.
