EPL Table: Brighton Overtake Arsenal At Top, Liverpool Draw At Newcastle

Brighton have moved to the top of the Premier League table after recording an impressive 4-0 victory over Aston Villa in Sunday’s early kick-off.

The Seagulls produced a dominant first-half performance, scoring all four goals before the break.

Brighton opened the scoring through an own goal from Victor Lindelof before Maxim De Cuyper added another goal.

Jack Hinshelwood then completed a first-half brace to give Brighton a commanding 4-0 lead.

Aston Villa’s difficult afternoon was made worse when debutant João Gomes was shown a red card.

The heavy defeat means Unai Emery’s side began the new Premier League season in disappointing fashion.
