Former Barcelona, Chelsea Forward Pedro Retires At 39

Former Barcelona and Chelsea forward Pedro has officially retired from professional football at the age of 39.

The former Spain international confirmed his decision four months after the end of his final professional contract with Serie A club Lazio.

Pedro announced his retirement in a post on Instagram, expressing gratitude as he prepares to “begin a new chapter in his life.”

The Spanish forward enjoyed a highly successful career at club and international level, winning major honours with both Barcelona and Spain.

With Spain, Pedro won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2012 during his international career.

At club level, he won the LaLiga title and also enjoyed a successful spell in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Pedro also played for several major European clubs, including Barcelona, Chelsea, Lazio and Roma, before bringing his professional career to an end.
