Gov Yahaya appoints 3 Commissioners, 6 Aides

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of three Commissioners-designate, two Special Advisers and four Senior Special Assistants.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the approval, said the appointments are part of efforts to further strengthen the State’s governance structure and enhance effective coordination in the implementation of its development agenda.

He said the governor has forwarded the names of the three Commissioners-designate to the Gombe State House of Assembly for screening and approval.

The Commissioners-designate are Dr Ahmed Wali Doho from Kwami Local Government Area, Nasiru Adamu Degri from Balanga Local Government Area and Dr Muhammad A. Bello from Gombe Local Government Area.

Doho will replace Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu who resigned recently and emerged as member to represent Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

While Degri is replacing Engr. Bala Adams who was nominated as a running mate to Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state.

Similarly, Governor Yahaya has approved the appointment of Abdulmalik Musa Jibrin and Mohammed Bashir Nuhu as Special Advisers.

Prof. Njodi also announced the appointment of Jibrin M. Ali, Sadiq Mohammed Abubakar (BB Kumo), John Launa and Danlami Sanda as Senior Special Assistants II on Political and Community Engagement.

According to him, the appointments take immediate effect, while the appointments of the Commissioners-designate remain subject to the approval of the State House of Assembly.
