Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria: All You Need To Know About Crucial 2027 AFCON Qualifier

Nigeria will face one of their toughest tests so far in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series when they travel to Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday evening.

Both teams started their qualifying campaigns with victories and have three points each. The Super Eagles defeated Madagascar 2-1, while Guinea-Bissau beat AFCON co-hosts Tanzania 2-0.

The result means Tuesday’s encounter in Bissau could have a major impact on the early leadership of Group L, with both sides aiming to secure another important victory.

Tanzania have already been guaranteed a place at the tournament as one of the co-hosts. Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar are therefore competing for the remaining qualification spot in the group.

Nigeria have enjoyed a strong record against Guinea-Bissau in their recent meetings. In the last four encounters between the two countries, the Super Eagles have recorded three victories, while the Djurtus have won once.

The Guinea-Bissau side, known as the Wild Dogs, will be hoping to use home advantage to secure another positive result after their opening-day victory over Tanzania.
