France national team head coach Zinedine Zidane has identified Paris Saint-Germain forward Désiré Doué as the player who reminds him of himself during his playing days.

Zidane made the comments at a press conference on Friday after unveiling his squad for France’s Nations League fixtures scheduled for later this month.

The former France captain praised Doué’s talent and willingness to learn, describing him as a good listener with a positive attitude towards improving his game.

“For Désiré, he is incredibly talented, and he is a good listener,” Zidane said.

He also highlighted the young forward’s determination to improve and win honours, saying he appreciates his performances on the pitch and his approach to the game.

“What I like is that he is eager to improve, eager to win honors,” Zidane added.

Zidane explained that Doué’s attitude reminds him of how he approached football as a young player, when he was eager to develop and regularly listened to experienced teammates and people around him. He said: “I really like his performances on the field and his attitude. If I had to say, I see myself in him as I was back then, because I also yearned to improve and listened to the older players and those around me.”
